Dr. Marcuetta Sims, Clinical Psychologist
My passion is providing therapy for Black women to help them heal from unresolved (often unidentified) childhood trauma and overcome perfectionism so they can know their worth and trust their inner wisdom. Foundationally, I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, which means that I believe in your ability to heal, tune in to what you need the most, and develop a sense of self that is solid and consistent with the desires you want from the world.
I meet you right where you are and help you transform from that space. Often, my clients start their work with me feeling critical, harsh, and, quite frankly, mean to themselves. So I create a safe container and hold that space of compassion and unconditional positive regard until they are ready to keep it for themselves.
