Andrea Paiva, APC (Spanish available)

I enjoy working with diverse individuals experiencing a variety of life stressors including life transitions, complex trauma and child/adolescent social and emotional issues. I strive to embody an empathic and non-judgmental presence with my clients as we work collaboratively through their healing journey. I emphasize the therapeutic relationship because I believe that healing is achieved through warm and empowering relationships. I have experience in various mental health settings, including partial hospitalization, individual therapy, and community mental health working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have also spent the past several years investing in adolescents as a mentor in settings such as churches and schools. I believe that everyone can change, yet most don’t have the tools to do so. Early childhood experiences shape the way we see the world, ourselves, and others. We can often go through life without acknowledging our unhealthy, subconscious thoughts until we start to recognize harmful patterns in our lives. I work through a cognitive behavioral and attachment lens that seeks to empower you and helps you to uncover, understand and heal into a more integrated and whole you.

About Me: I am honored that you are considering therapy with me. Taking this step towards healing can be scary. I deeply empathize with my clients because it can be difficult to address experiences that we have covered up for a long time as well as the emotions that surface because of it. Bringing emotions such as fear, shame, and insecurities to the light will keep them from taking root any further. When you have the safety and support in place, you will realize that you don’t have to go at this alone. My hope is that I would provide a safe space for you to process your emotions, thoughts, and experiences and explore the truth, which in turn leads to freedom and empowerment. I am deeply passionate about helping you navigate through life’s challenges. Please feel free to reach out to me and we can chat to see if I would be a good fit for you. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey!
